Richard Smith graduated from Stanford Medical School in 1969. He was an ER doctor for 25 years and the medical director of the California Highway Patrol for 21.5 years. He was the Vice President of Medical Affairs/HR for a 35 person ER medical group in Sacramento, California. He retired in 2000, then “put on a new set of tires” and became Microsoft System Certified Engineer, beginning a second career as the Systems Administrator of Siuslaw Bank and now is IT Project Coordinator for the Bank. He has been with Siuslaw since 2002. Recently, he became trained in Financial Counseling and Finances in the Workplace.
